7.11 LARGE CALIBER HE: Many WWII guns were so large that they could cause additional causalities due to flying debris and shrapnel. Due to the enormous destructive power of large caliber guns, use the following rule. Large Caliber guns will be so noted on card with a red superscript LC . All ordnance of 120mm size and larger (excluding Rockets) firing HE Direct may also affect other units surrounding the primary target. Any Infantry or Unarmored targets within 1 inch of any successfully hit target are also hit but with a +2 modifier to the To-Kill roll.
7.11.1 Large Caliber HE Misses: When firing HE Direct, if a Large Caliber weapon fails its To-Hit roll, roll 2D6 (one directional, one white). The directional d6 indicates the direction of the miss and the white, the distance in inches divided by two. (6 = 3”, 5 = 2.5” 4 = 2”, 3 = 1.5” etc). This location now becomes the target of the attack.
